Indoor Group Fitness Schedule
Please visit www.richmond.ca/register to browse and register for available classes.  Schedule subject to change. Classes held in Pavilion Room unless otherwise stated.
Check in is 15 minutes prior for all drop-in fitness classes.
Registration is required to secure you bike for Cycle Fit classes.
**Reserve your spot in-person for this class one hour prior to class start time. Reservations cannot be made on another person’s behalf. Drop-ins must pay admission at the time of reservation.

Class Descriptions

Cardio Plus
Pump it up for a total body workout with low impact cardio moves followed by toning and stretching.
Core and More
Strengthen, tone and stretch for a stronger core and limber limbs that improve posture and muscular balance.
Core and Stretch
Learn challenging functional and effective exercises with progressive movements that enhance stability, balance and core strength followed by a full body strength.
Cycle Fit
Climb, sprint, and ride easy to improve strength and cardiovascular fitness in this low impact bike workout designed for all fitness levels.
Cycle Fit Express
Try this condensed version of Cycle Fit for a great workout.
Dance Fit
Move and groove to a high-energy choreographed cardiovascular workout set to popular music.
Dance & Tone
Shake, sway and shimmy to popular dance music followed by resistance training for an overall body shape up.

Fit 4 Life
Develop a base of strength while improving cardiovascular fitness, balance, and agility in this total body workout.
H.I.I.T (High Intensity Interval Training)
Try resistance and endurance training in a fast-paced, non-choreographed workout.
Interval Workout
Combine strength, endurance and cardiovascular training in a variety of work-to-rest ratio intervals.
Power Fit
Boost strength and stamina with this high-energy class that includes power moves, intervals and challenging core work.
Pure Stretch
Improve flexibility and reduce stress in this class that offers basic total body stretching
Strength and Conditioning
Focus on total body strength using resistance equipment and body weight.
Yoga
Lengthen, breathe and relieve stress while balancing the body with gentle yoga poses.

Drop-in Fitness Classes

Be motivated and have fun in a group-based class led by an inspiring instructor with upbeat music. Exercise options are provided for different fitness levels.
We offer Group Fitness and Yoga drop-in classes for ages 13+ years. Drop-in Aquafit classes are also available at Minoru Aquatic Centre. Older Adult classes are designed for people ages 55+ years.
Drop-in classes are included with Minoru Centre for Active Living facility admission. For the safety and enjoyment of all, the number of participants is limited. Classes are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please check in at the front desk to purchase your admission and pick up your drop-in fitness class wristband. Wristbands are available 30 minutes before the class start time.

 

Fitness Class Etiquette

In order to ensure a safe, enjoyable class for all:
  • Be respectful towards patrons and staff and with equipment.
  • Arrive on time for a class.  Latecomers are not permitted 5 minutes past the class start time.
  • Wear clean and appropriate attire and closed-toed running shoes.
  • Participate in the warm-up, cool down and stretch to help prevent injury.  Each component of the class is equally important.
  • Listen to your body and work at your own pace.  Ask for help if needed.
  • Refrain from taking videos and photos unless authorized.
  • Sanitize equipment after use and return items to their proper place.
  • Leave valuables at home or use designated spaces or locker provided at your own risk.  Bags and personal items are not permitted on the classroom floor.
Review the PAR-Q+ annual or if the intensity of your exercises increases.
Thank you for following directions from staff and reporting any concerns.

Group Fitness

Group fitness or “aerobic” classes provide upbeat cardio, strength, endurance and flexibility training. Classes vary in format from teaching patterns set to music, to circuit style or interval type training.
Classes are held in a studio space or on the Fitness Centre floor. All equipment is provided.
Minoru Centre for Active Living also offers registered fitness classes. Schedules change seasonally and may include:
  • Barre Moves
  • TRX Suspension Training
  • Zumba
  • Zumba Gold

Yoga

Drop-in yoga classes are an excellent introduction to yoga or a great way to round out a fitness routine. Focus on flexibility, injury prevention and relaxation as a certified instructor leads you through different poses and breathing.
You are welcome to bring your own mat. Mats and other props are also provided.
We also offer registered yoga classes. Schedules change seasonally and may include:
